Project Overview
Envision 2050 is Lake County's next Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The plan will develop a vision of transportation in Lake County that is both responsive to the needs of today yet flexible enough to adapt to challenges over the next two decades and beyond. With your input, Envision 2050 will establish a framework for infrastructure and mobility investments to provide all users the physical mobility they need to reach the economic mobility they seek. When completed the plan will identify transportation priorities, a list of projects and implementation strategies. Envision 2050 will enable decision-makers to connect our people and communities to each other, the region and the world.
Built on data, collaboration and your feedback, Envision 2050 will serve as the County's transportation blueprint for the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
A comprehensive document that guides transportation development for a region over a long period, typically 20-30 years. It outlines how a region will address its transportation needs, encompassing all modes of travel, and ensuring transportation investments support economic development, transportation goals, and sustainability. Envision 2050 is Lake County's next Long Range Transportation Plan.
By state law, the County is required to have a 20 year long range transportation plan. In 2014 the County Board adopted the 2040 Transportation Plan, much has changed since it's adoption. Envision 2050 will help us plan for a vision of transportation in Lake County that is responsive to the needs of today yet flexible enough to adapt to challenges over the next two decades and beyond.
While the outcomes of the plan will be determined through data analysis and stakeholder feedback, when completed the plan will identify transportation priorities, a list of projects and implementation strategies.
